On May 1, 1999, the plaintiff age 63, was a front-seat passenger in a pickup truck being driven by the defendant
who was her fiancee at the time. They married before the settlement. The defendant made an unsafe lane
change and struck another car, causing the pickup truck to roll. After the defendantÆs deposition, the defendant
admitted liability.
