Facts

On Jan. 12, 1995, plaintiff Anselmo Puga, went to the North Colorado Medical Center complaining of pain in his abdomen. Physicians discovered a kidney stone lodged in the plaintiff's ureter. The plaintiff underwent surgery to remove the stone, however, complications resulted in the loss of the plaintiff's kidney. The plaintiff brought this action against defendant Dr. Marc Wolach based on negligence. The plaintiff's wife, Lorena Puga, brought a claim for loss of consortium.

Settlement Discussions

The plaintiffs made a settlement demand for $200,000. The defendant made no offer.

Injuries

The plaintiff suffered loss of his kidney and ureter on the right side after several surgeries; and chronic flank pain.

Other Information

The verdict was reached approximately two years and 10 months after the case was filed.
