PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
The plaintiff contended that she sustained injuries to her neck, back, and shoulder and continued to have complaints up to the date of trial. The plaintiff's counsel asked the jury to award his client $12,500.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
The defendant contended that the plaintiff was contributorily negligent, was not injured in the manner in which she claimed, and underwent treatment that was neither reasonable nor necessary. The plaintiff was impeached upon cross-examination regarding the extent of her injuries, treatment she received, and prior injuries that she denied in deposition and on the stand during trial. Defense counsel asked the jury to award the plaintiff $1,350 if anything at all.
