The plaintiffs, Maria Acevedo and Faustina Martinez, were production workers at Waterway Plastics, a company that manufactures plastic parts for spas and swimming pools. Each alleged that their supervisor, Jesus Lara, made constant sexual propositions, and offensively touched them. They alleged both hostile work environment and quid pro quo conduct by Lara. The plaintiffs were fired.

Damages

Acevedo claimed $3,035 in counseling expenses and $1,050 in lost income. Martinez claimed $2,675 in counseling expenses and $4,200 in lost income. Each demanded $35,000 in compensatory damages, plus punitive damages and attorneys' fees.
