Facts

The plaintiff, J.A., claimed that he was molested by Norman Watson in 1991, when Watson was babysitting J.A.'s neighbor's children, including plaintiff S.W. At the time, Watson was a volunteer Little League coach and J.A. was one of the players on his team. S.W. claimed that she was also molested by Watson in 1990, while he was babysitting or visiting at her home. Although S.W. played at EBLL, she was not a player on any of Watson's teams. In 1997, Megan's Law CD-ROM became available to the public and the defendant, East Baseline Little League (EBLL), found Watson's name listed as a high risk sex offender. EBLL immediately held an emergency board meeting on July 27, 1997, at which time Watson resigned. None of the children or their parents ever reported that Watson had molested anyone. In the fall of 1997, Watson was arrested and charged with child molestation and is currently serving an 84 year prison sentence.
