This wrongful death case was brought by Plaintiff parents of decedent, a 28-year-old carpenter who was killed in a van v. flatbet truck collision which occurred approximately one mile northeast of Othello. The decedent had been a passenger asleep on a bed in the back of the van on his way to a job site. The Defendant driver ran a stop sign and struck the van in which the decedent was riding in a broadside collision. The decedent had received certification as a journeyman carpenter one week prior to the collision; he left no surviving spouse or children.
