Facts

On February 27, 1991, Plaintiff, a 35-year-old foreman of a ceramics and woodworking custom shop, was in the course and scope of his employment cutting Formica surrell with a table saw when a tooth broke off the blade, resulting in permanent physical injury to Plaintiff. Plaintiff had put a new blade on the saw immediately prior to the accident. The saw did not have a guard and Plaintiff was not wearing safety goggles. The saw manufacturer and the saw blade manufacturer were named as Defendants.

Settlement Discussions

Plaintiff contends that they demanded $600,000 and Defendant offered $300,000.
