Decedent, a 75-year-old retired homemaker, presented to Chino Valley Medical Center with chest pains. She had an abnormal EKG and elevated CPK enzymes. She was sent home with a diagnosis of chest wall pain. One day later, she suffered a massive myocardial infraction and died. The plaintiffs, the decedent's adult daughter and dependent granddaughter brought this action against the defendant based on a negligence theory of recovery.
