Facts

The California Coastal Protection Network sued the City and County of San Francisco for violations of the Coastal Act related to actions occurring at Ocean Beach.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
California Coastal Protection alleged violations of the California Coastal Act. It sought declaratory and injunctive relief, as well as civil fines for violations of the Act.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
The city denied California Coastal Protection's allegations, and asserted various affirmative defenses.

Result

Under a settlement, the city agreed to comply with the Coastal Act. Plaintiff was also granted $125,000 in attorney fees.
