Facts

According to the plaintiff: In 1991, the plaintiffs signed exclusive deals for production, publishing and
management with a performer "Kurupt."
In 1992, the defendants began using KuruptÆs services without entering into a production deal with the
plaintiffs to furnish those services.
In 1993, defendant Death Row Records Inc., Marion "Suge" Knight dba Suge Music and Sharitha Knight dba
Knightlife Management Inc., entered into a recording contract, publishing contract and management contract,
respectively, with Kurupt.
At the time the defendants entered into the contracts with Kurupt, they knew of the existence of the plaintiffsÆ
contracts and prospective economic relationship with Kurupt, intentionally engaged in conduct which
prevented the plaintiffsÆ performance and intentionally interfered with the plaintiffsÆ prospective economic
relationship with Kurupt.
The defendants used KuruptÆs services on a total of 17 albums and one single record over several years, during
which time they made representations to the plaintiffs that Death Row Records would enter into a production
deal.
Plaintiffs Lamont Brumfield claimed compensatory damages of no less than $2,279,000.
Plaintiff Ken Brumfield claimed compensatory damages of no less than $740,000. The defendants contested
liability and damages.
