California Medical Association and a class of doctors filed a class action against Blue Shield of California, seeking to enjoin Blue Shield from giving recognition to doctors who had performed well against patient treatment benchmarks on its website, as well as damages. Purchasers of healthcare, health plans, and physicians groups had gathered the data.
