Facts
On March 19, 1995, the plaintiff, a former director of the defendant condominium homeowners association, had a dispute with two individual defendants, also former directors regarding management of the association. The individual defendants had served on the same board with the plaintiff. The plaintiff alleged the dispute escalated until one of the defendants allegedly uttered racial slurs and struck her. The dispute culminated in a lawsuit filed by the plaintiff against the defendants, which resulted in a special election ordered by Judge O'Brien. In the special election in July 1995, the plaintiff was not re-elected to her position on the board. That suit was resolved. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendants in late 1995 based on libel, discrimination, assault, battery and interference with business theories of recovery.
