A class of direct purchasers of freight forwarding services brought a class action against various freight forwarding companies relating to price fixing.

Contentions

PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiffs contended that defendants conspired to fix the prices for their freight forwarding services.

DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS:
Defendants denied any wrongdoing.

Result

The court approved 10 settlements between the parties, whereby the settling defendants agreed to pay a minimum of $105,611,864.54.

Other Information

A second round of settlements is expected to be approved, totaling more than $197 million. FILING DATE: Jan. 3, 2008.
