Facts

The current and former employees of Natalie Salon, a San Mateo County based nail salon chain, filed a class action, alleging that the chain failed to properly pay its employees minimum and overtime wages, took portions of employees' credit card tips, failed to provide adequate mail breaks, failed to keep proper time and pay records, and unlawfully discriminated against employees by prohibiting employees from speaking Vietnamese at work.

Result

The parties settled for $750,000. The salon also agreed to improve its employment practices with no admission of liability.
