Facts

Cree Inc. filed a patent infringement action against SemiLEDs Corp., a developer and manufacturer of LED chips and LED components, including streetlights and residential lighting products under the MvpLED brand.

Result

The parties reached a settlement whereby SemiLEDs will make a one-time payment to Cree, and agreed to an injunction, under which it will halt the import and sale of its allegedly infringing products in the United States beginning on Oct. 1, 2012. Further, the parties agreed to drop other claims against one another.
