Facts
Plaintiff and defendant are competitors in the business of providing paralegals and support staff to law firms. In January 1996. Plaintiff business hired an individual as work as their office manager. In October 1996, the manager left plaintiffÆs business and went to work for a competitor company. Later, plaintiff brought suit alleging that the ex-employee had stolen their client list, called on plaintiffÆs clients and had stolen items of plaintiffÆs personal property.

The verdict was reached approximately two years and three months after the case was filed. In June 1997, defendant company fired the individual who had work for plaintiff. The termination was not related to the litigation. The plaintiff won a default arbitration award against the individual defendant. The plaintiff has filed a notice of appeal regarding the motion for summary judgment. Summary judgment was granted for defendant. The largest former client of plaintiff testified there was no exclusive contract with plaintiff so it could hire any temporary services agency it chose.
