Plaintiff Sarah Gregory, a registered nurse, had been the patient of defendant Paul Krynen, D.C., for 12 years. In May 1995, Gregory sought two treatments from defendant for low back complaints. After two adjustments by the chiropractor, the plaintiff experienced increase complaints and was hospitalized in May 1995 for complaints for numbness and tingling in the lower extremity and bowel and bladder complaints. CT and MRI scans were negative.

Settlement Discussions

In June 1999, plaintiff made demand of $20,000. In November 1997, defendant made an offer to waive costs.

Injuries

Severe lumbar sacral sprain and strain for which she attended approximately 200 visits to chiropractors, osteopaths, naturopath and acupuncturist and social worker through late 1996. The husband filed for loss of consortium due to his wife's severe and excruciating discomfort and alleged lack of physical activity.

Other Information

The verdict was reached three years and two months after the case was filed. Husband's loss of consortium claim was denied on granting of defendant's motion in limine.
