Facts

In November 1997, plaintiff was driving on the Costa Mesa freeway at 50 mph during a rain when defendant traveling in the number two lane applied her brakes due to slow traffic ahead of her. The defendant's car hydroplaned and spun around colliding with plaintiff's vehicle on the passenger side. The plaintiff was removed from the scene of the accident by ambulance. The defendant admitted liability.
