Facts

According to the plaintiff: The plaintiff vendor was ejected from the city-owned and managed
Alemany FarmersÆ Market on Nov. 29, 1997 for distributing a negative newspaper article about
the market manager. The defendant allegedly retaliated against Kim Nguyen after she organized
the vendors and drafted two petitions. Both petitions, signed by more than 30 vendors, asked the
city to stop abuse.

According to the plaintiff: The parties agreed to a total judgment of $130,000, and the case settled after the verdict for a total of $130,000 against the City and County of San Francisco including costs and attorney fees.
