Facts
On May 25, 1999, the plaintiff, a 32-year-old handyman/maintenance worker was standing on the
premises of a brake shop, after having delivered a vehicle there for his employer. The plaintiff
was bending down near the tailpipe of the car when he heard a loud crash. A vehicle driven by
the defendant ran a stop sign and struck a pickup truck. The truck began to spin and struck the
plaintiff, pinning him between the truck and a recreational vehicle. The plaintiff suffered a violent
impact to his face, head, extremities and back.
