Facts

Pacing Technologies LLC filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Garmin International Inc. and Garmin USA Inc., in connection with the U.S Patent No. 8,101,843, entitled "System and Method for Pacing Repetitive Motion Activities. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued this patent on Jan. 24, 2012. Pacing was the owner of this patent by assignment. Garmin provided navigation services using the Global Positioning System technology.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Pacing contended that Garmin infringed on its patent by incorporating the patent in many of its products.

DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS:
Garmin denied Pacing's allegations, and asserted various affirmative defenses. Garmin also filed a motion for summary judgment of non-infringement, or alternatively, invalidity.

Result

The court granted Garmin's summary judgment of non-infringement, and denied as moot its motion for summary judgment of invalidity.
