Facts

Woodside Atherton Auxiliary to the Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford University, which runs the Allied Arts Guild, a historic multi-use property in Menlo Park, received approval from the city of Menlo Park of a rezoning map, general plan amendment and use permit for the renovation and use of the Allied Arts Guild for public events, after it supplied a mitigated negative declaration pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act. It described in this statement why the project would not have a significant effect on the environment and thus did not require the preparation of an environmental impact report, which is generally required before a permit can be awarded.

Damages

Petitioners alleged prejudicial violation of CEQA regulations and potential damage to the environment.
