Facts

Plaintiff Debra Anderson, 43, was a senior vice president of general merchandising at Defendant Thrifty Drug stores from March 18, 1991, until January 2, 1992. Anderson received substantial praise and no criticism of her job performance. Her employment ended when a man was brought in from outside the company to assume the senior vice president position; and Anderson declined to accept a 2-step demotion and a $55,000-per-year reduction in salary. Anderson brought claims against Thrifty and the president and executive vice president for breach of contract, fraud, negligent misrepresentation, and sex discrimination.

Defendant contends its offer was $100,000 and Plaintiff's demand was $750,000 -- both at trial.
