On Jan. 16, 1996, the plaintiff, a 64-year-old secretary, was on the premises of the defendant decedent, her friend, when she slipped and fell down several stairs. The plaintiff was descending the stairs to call paramedics to render aid to the defendant decedent. The defendant estate contested liability and the extent of the plaintiff's medical condition. The defendant estate also argued comparative fault. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant based on a premises liability theory of recovery.
