On Sept. 5, 1995, plaintiff Aida Chen, a 52-year-old teacher, was stopped at a red light on San Jose Avenue when the defendant's vehicle struck the rear of the plaintiff's automobile. The plaintiff contended that the accident caused her to sustain soft-tissue injuries abd psychological trauma and that the defendant was negligent. The defendant admitted liability, but contended that there was no injury.
