Facts

Henry Walls was run over by a truck in a crosswalk. The truck was owned by Capital Sanitation Co. and driven by an employee of Waste Management of Nevada, Juan Castillo. The truck dragged Walls for 19 feet. Walls filed suit against defendants for negligence in the operation of a vehicle and vicarious liability for the truck owner and employer. Defendants stipulated to liability.

Damages

Walls claimed $510,905.91 for past medical expenses and $1 million for future medical expenses, life care, etc.

Injuries

Walls sustained a degloving injury to his leg, a crush injury to his leg, a fibula fracture, compartment syndrome, a dislocated joint in his foot and a heel laceration.

Result

The case settled for $2,500,000.
