On April 9, 1999, the plaintiff, a 64-year-old retiree, was stopped at a red light headed south on Cahuenga
Boulevard when the defendantÆs vehicle struck her vehicle from behind, pushing plaintiffÆs car into the truck in
front of plaintiff.
The plaintiff brought this case based on negligence theories of recovery.

Damages

The plaintiff claimed $11,000 in past medical expenses, $35,000 for a future surgery and $11,000 for property damage to her Ford Explorer. No wage loss claim was made.

Injuries

The plaintiff sustained a herniated disc at C4-5, associated radiculopathy in her right hand and fingers and shoulder and back pain.
