Facts

The plaintiff alleged that she was falsely arrested on Dec. 3, 1996. The plaintiff sought damages for lost wages,
medical bills and other economic losses and emotional injuries. The plaintiff sought punitive damages against
the defendant.
The defendant contended that he had probable cause to arrest the plaintiff for willfully resisting, delaying or
obstructing a police officer in the discharge or attempt to discharge his duty in violation of PC Section 148 by
moving her car out of a red zone while he was attempting to issue a non-criminal parking citation.
