SACRAMENTO - A rolling stone might not gather moss, but retired Placer County Judge Richard L. Gilbert has accumulated plenty of experience throughout his roving career.

Gilbert, 65, now works as a Sacramento-based neutral. But he's prosecuted cases as a district attorney, handled matters in private practice and later did business negotiations in post-Soviet Russia.
