With businesses tightening their belts these days, Hoffman said, he's seeing fewer insurance adjusters showing up for mediations.
"From a mediator's perspective, it's always best to have the person in authority in the room to settle the case," he said. "Otherwise, this creates a barrier and hurts the process."
