Law Enforcement Search Authority Limited by Court
WASHINGTON - The Supreme Court ruled unanimously Tuesday that the Fourth Amendment is violated by a unique Iowa law that allows police officers to conduct a full-blown search of a vehicle and its driver after they merely issue a traffic citation and do not arrest the driver.
