Law student wins scholarship from Higgs Fletcher & Mack
San Diego-based Higgs Fletcher & Mack provided a $3,500 scholarship to California Western School of Law student Thomas Wang on April 9. Wang, a second-year student was selected from several students with unique backgrounds and strengths. Wang took the honor because of his dedication to promoting diversity, helping others assimilate and passion for fighting unfair social stigmas, the law firm said. He is involved in organizations including the Pan Asian Lawyer Association and Chinese Attorney Law Association. Wang is currently an intern at the San Diego County Public Defender's Office and is slated to graduate from California Western next year. The Higgs Fletcher & Mack diversity scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate ethical and/or civic leadership, as well as a commitment to providing services to underrepresented groups. - Alexandra Schwappach
