Lawyers association holds awards banquet and installation ceremony
The Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association held its 38th annual installation and awards banquet on April 5 at the Empress Pavilion Restaurant in Los Angeles. The event began with a Chinese lion dance, and was followed by the award presentation. This years honorees included Impact Award recipient Arthur Chong, executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of Broadcom Corporation; Community hero Award recipient Mike Fong, east area director for Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa; Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Brian A. Sun, partner at Jones Day; and Judicial Service Award recipient Hon. Lawrence H. Cho, Los Angeles county superior court judge. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elaine Lu swore in the 2013-2014 officers & board of governors. The evening concluded with the presentation of scholarship and fellowship awards to southern California law school students. -Caitlin Johnson
