Massive DDT Pollution Suit Settled With $73 Million
SAN FRANCISCO - Four companies, including what was once the nation's largest maker of the pesticide DDT, have agreed to pay $73 million in cleanup costs and to fix other environmental problems caused by dumping of the chemical in the Pacific Ocean off Los Angeles, it was revealed Tuesday.
