San Francisco bar kicks off pro bono activities
The Justice & Diversity Center of The Bar Association of San Francisco kicked off its 2014 "It Starts With A Day" community service campaign on Jan. 25. Twenty-eight volunteers from Hewlett-Packard Co. and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, the two sponsors of the event, staffed an all-day legal clinic in Bayview-Hunters Point that served 50 clients. After transforming an empty gymnasium into a legal clinic, volunteers conducted intake evaluations to determine client needs, interpreted for monolingual clients, and served a lunch to all attendees. — Ben Adlin
