UCI hosts Project SELF career day for high school juniors
Fifty-four students have begun hands-on summer internships throughout 44 Orange County law firms, where they will participate in a day at court, work alongside lawyers, learn office skills and gain experience in professional career fields. Since its inception in 1995, 673 students have participated in Project SELF (Summer Employment in Law Firms), which places low- to middle-income high school juniors in paid, eight-week internships at participating firms. At a July 8 career day at UC Irvine School of Law, Founding Dean Erwin Chemerinsky welcomed the students to the school and invited them to tour the campus. — Ben Adlin
