Lawyers rock out for charity
DLA Piper's rock band Def Piper took home first place for charity fundraising at the 1st Annual Law Rocks event last week at San Francisco music venue The Independent by raising $15,206. The band's performance tied for third in the hotly contested competition. Its fundraising level was more than $10,000 above the closest competitor in an event that raised at least $22,000 for charity. The money will be split between The Cooperative Restraining Order Clinic and George Mark Children's House, the charities of choice for Def Piper and Cooley LLP's band, Talk Tonight. — Joshua Sebold
