South Asian Bar Association holds gala
Members and friends of the South Asian Bar Association of Southern California convened in downtown Los Angeles in March to celebrate a selection of honorees and install new board members. More than 330 guests, including 30 judges, attended the dinner, which raised funds for the SABA Public Interest Foundation. Honorees included U.S. District Judge Virginia A. Phillips, Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth PC shareholder Shivbir Grewal and Laboni Hoq, litigation director of the Asian Pacific American Legal Center. U.S. Magistrate Judge Jay Gandhi swore in board members for both SABA and the group's public interest foundation following cocktails, entertainment and a dinner of South Asian cuisine. -Ben Adlin
