Los Angeles' Drug Court, beset by local budget cuts and uncertain future funding, may be getting a boost from the federal government, in the form of a $350,000 grant.
Municipal Court Judges Stephen A. Marcus and Rudolph Diaz, two of the project's founders, said Wednesday the block grant would restore acupuncture treatment for drug-addicted defendants and help start drug courts in two more judicial districts.
