Loyola recognizes LA County supervisor
Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas was awarded Loyola Law School's 2014 Johnnie L. Cochran Jr. award Wednesday. The prize is named in honor of 1962 Loyola alumnus Cochran and is given annually to a person who embodies Cochran's defining characteristics as a trailblazer, innovator, master attorney and mentor, according to the law school. Proceeds from the awards event benefit the Loyola Law African-American Scholarship Fund. — Jean Yung
