Judge Lee Smalley Edmon named LA County Bar's 2013 Outstanding Jurist

On May 21, the Los Angeles County Bar Association presented Judge Lee Smalley Edmon with the group's Outstanding Jurist of 2013 award. Edmon, a past presiding judge of Los Angeles County Superior Court and the first woman to hold the position, was honored at a luncheon held at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. U.S. District Judge Margaret M. Morrow, Los Angeles County Superior Court Presiding Judge David S. Wesley and the association's former president, Gretchen M. Nelson, spoke on her behalf. Edmon was appointed to the Los Angeles County Superior Court in 2000 by then-Gov. Gray Davis. — Chase Scheinbaum
