Employment lawyers hold diversity summit
The California Employment Lawyers Association hosted its second annual Diversity Leadership Summit on May 21 at Loyola Law School. The free networking lunch was intended to help law students and new lawyers get a foot in the door in labor and employment law. Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Virginia Keeny delivered the keynote address. Other speakers included Jaffe D. Dickerson of Littler Mendelson PC, Rupert Byrdsong of Ivie McNeill & Wyatt APLC and Dolores Y. Leal of Allred, Maroko & Goldberg. About 75 people attended the event, which was co-sponsored by a grant from the State Bar's labor and employment law section. A second summit will be held in Northern California on June 10 at UC Hastings College of the Law. — Alexandra Schwappach
