Students honored with Warren Christopher awards

O'Melveny & Myers LLP's Warren Christopher Scholarship Program recognized 10 promising 10th-grade students, awarding each a $20,000 scholarship at a reception on May 17 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. The 2013 Christopher Scholars — (from left) Rawaa Alimohamed, Dominique Dorsey, Raven Freebird, Mariam Ghattas, Kelly Ha, Brandon Lee, Peter Xiangyang Liu, Ashley Noble, Kathie Paniagua and O'Brian Santos — received their awards from former O'Melveny partner Stu Tobisman (far left) and Kristen Henderson Christopher, the daughter of Warren Christopher. O'Melveny partner Matthew Kline (far right) serves as chairman of the Warren Christopher Scholarship Committee. The 20-year-old scholarship program is named in honor of the former U.S. secretary of state and former O'Melvany chairman. The award serves as a lasting memorial to Christopher, a champion of higher education opportunities for disadvantaged students.
