Panel covers dos and don'ts of arbitration

Attorneys from a range of practice areas gathered May 22 at the San Francisco headquarters of JAMS to hear a panel discussion on arbitration. Retired judges Rebecca Westerfield, James L. Warren and Patrick J. Mahoney answered questions from the moderator and the audience, as did David S. Steuer, a partner with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich& Rosati PC in Palo Alto. Corina I. Cocovean, an attorney at Wilson Sonsini in San Francisco, moderated the event. The Association of Business Trial Lawyers put on the event in partnership with JAMS and Wilson Sonsini. The panel focused on introducing the basics of arbitration to new lawyers and answered questions about choosing the right arbitrator, handling discovery and enforcing an arbitration award. — Laura Hautala
