'Pigs' takes center stage in elementary school mock trial

Lawyers with the Los Angeles office of Hunton & Williams LLP hosted a mock trial May 15 for a class of 24 students from Madison Elementary School in South Gate. The students sat as jurors in proceedings involving the well-known children's story "The Three Little Pigs." Anne Marie Mortimer, managing partner of Hunton's Los Angeles office, acted as the trial judge, while associate Alex Young and partner Roland Juarez served as defense attorney and plaintiff's attorney, respectively. Associate Emily Aldrich played the defendant, senior attorney Morgan Evans played the plaintiff, and paralegal Bill Powell acted as the bailiff. This is the sixth year the firm has participated in the program, and the fourth year the mock trial has included students from Madison Elementary. — Jason Armstrong
