California Western recruits lawyers for affordable services initiative
On May 15, California Western School of Law's Access to Law Initiative hosted a reception for attorneys interested in participating in a program that aims to provide affordable and pro bono assistance to people who lack access to legal services. The initiative also supports alumni who engage in solo and small firm practices that actively participate in nonprofit entities. Attorneys in the program, which has expanded its services and ties to the San Diego community, agree to perform 100 hours of pro bono, reduced cost and community education work each year, as well as build a law practice that charges reasonable fees. —Katy Simonian
