Mayer Brown LLP attorney awarded Civic Medal of Honor
The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce honored Mayer Brown LLP's Michael "Mickey" Kantor at its 125th Anniversary Inaugural Dinner on Feb. 7 at the JW Marriott in Downtown Los Angeles. Kantor, a former US Secretary of Commerce and US Trade Respresentative, was awarded the Civic Medal of Honor for distinguished civic leadership and community and public service. Former President Bill Clinton, under whom Kantor served, remarked via videotape on his dediction to public service, stating, "His commitment to service runs far and deep ... I really think he may well be the most effective trade ambassador our country has ever had."
