Disability Rights Legal Center honors visionaries
Disability Rights Legal Center, a national organization that uses advocacy, education and litigation to fight for the rights of individuals with disabilities, recognized a selection of honorees at its recent annual Franklin D. Roosevelt Dinner, held Nov. 13 at the Omni Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. The list of honorees included the Los Angeles Dodgers; Gerald T. McLaughlin, dean emeritus at Loyola Law School; Eric Rosenthal, founder and executive director of Disability Rights International; former Los Angeles City Councilman and County Supervisor Edmund D. Edelman; and Ben Lewin, writer and director of the 2012 movie "The Sessions," the true story of a man living with an iron lung. — Andrew McIntyre
