VFX company says Disney violated injunction
The company says its technology was improperly used in “Beauty and the Beast” and other films
A video effects company has accused Disney of violating an injunction that blocks the use of its face capturing technology in a lawsuit filed in the Central District of California.
The technology, known as MOVA Contour Reality Capture, has been lauded in Hollywood for its ability to transform actors into full-fledged animated creations through the use of phosphorescent paint and dozens of small cameras.
