A fired in-house attorney has filed a lawsuit against her former employer, a biotechnology company, saying her pay was not similar to that of male colleagues.
Teresa Spehar’s gender discrimination suit also accuses La Jolla-based Syntheic Genomics Inc. of engendering a culture that allowed men in the workplace to make sexist comments free of reprimand, such as calling female employees “moody,” “indecisive” or a “typical redhead.”
